Good by "Hunter" Welcome Home "Jake"
« on: April 24, 2012, 07:01:27 PM »
In March we had to put our 13 year old Lab/kid "Hunter" down.  He was a HUGE part of our family.  That was one of the hardest things we have ever had to do.  It still hurts like hell.  We told ourselves that we would not go through that again and not get another dog.  Well it didn't take long to realize how vacant and quiet our house seemed without hunter in it.  Well after a lot of searching we found "Jake"  We brought him home Sunday at 7 weeks old.  He will never be Hunter,  but we would not want him to be anyway......John

Our beloved Lab, "Hunter" Rest in peace ole boy.

Our new Pup "Jake"

My dad and I went thru the same struggle when we had to put our Lab down. My dad didnt want to get another dog because none could replace Jackson but over time my dad, his wife, and I decided we all wanted another dog in the house and now we have Kodiak, a chocolate lab.

While no dog will ever replace another, they are a new adventure and a new friend. Congrats on the new pup and I'm sorry for the loss of Hunter.

Thats a good looking lab puppy!  Sorry to hear your lab of 13 years was put down.  I hope this new pupply will help ease the pain caused by such a loss.
