« on: July 19, 2008, 02:57:25 PM »
My step dad and I finally drew an elk unit together and want to make the most of it,not afraid to hike and usually go lightweight early season anyways.Got lucky and drew Entiat B tags for late archery as well.Only took 9 years for elk and 5 for deer, well worth the wait though.Any help for Peaches would be great,Thanks everyone!Good luck this year.

Hunt the little Naches side of the unit. Saw lots of bulls there last year.

That's my plan for now, just looking for some more specific points that anyone was willing to share.

Go up "Rock Creek" and go left at the first major "Y" (don't remember the numbers) and at the second major "Y" go right then you'll go like six miles or so and there will be yet another "Y" and go right and follow it to the huge bowl back there and hunt up hill along the shale rock and even above that. You may be close to the unit boundary but it is fine as the other unit is open for you as well. I'll try to find the road numbers on one of my maps if your interested !!

I scouted it pretty heavy last year for Muzzleloader and I'll agree stay away from the Taneum! too many mushroom pickers and dirt bike riders! I found most of the good herds on the Little Naches side of the units including my little pisscutter!

I've drawn the tag twice and killed nice bulls both times. I'd stay in the little Naches side of the tag, there's elk from the little Naches west to cascade crest and from the little naches east to top of Manastash. The hunt is a kick in the ass, we found elk everywhere. Good luck on the hunt.

I want to thank all of you fellas for the info you have been providing, I plan on staying in the Little Naches side and spending the first week back in around Crow Basin and if nothing pans out there I have a pretty good idea where I will be headed. This web site is awesome and if anybody needs anything I will always be happy to provide help if I can.
