Scoring any new gear in the off season?
« on: May 01, 2012, 11:29:39 PM »
Is anyone scoring any new gear in the off season?  I have been watching quite a few people selling stuff.  I keep getting the temptation to buy more, but I have way to much right now.  Only looking forward to checking out the new Sitka Waterfowl Jacket.  If it's less than $500, way less.   :bash:
Cut em!

Lots of new stuff for us.

I've already placed my orders for the new Sitka Waterfowl gear.  I wish they offered it in more big game clothing I very much like the pattern.

Most excited to try the Kuiu pack. I've been looking for a lighter pack that carries heavy loads well.  Haven't gotten to test it yet, but I have high hopes.

New Zink turkey decoys are cool, but a lot heavier than I had expected - not liking that too much.

The new Bear Anarchy has been a blast to shoot.  Still not sure if it will over take the Assault or the Invasion as my hunting companion.  But it is looking darned good.

New rain gear, arrows, backpack cookwear, fletching, rifle barrel and stock, carbon  broadhead blades, string jig...plus many more things to come before we are headed north in the fall.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

New arrows are being built up now. New string on the Guardian and a street plated XR 500R for fun in the afternoon.

I've picked up 5 1/2 dozen new decoys so far.  And I've been building a boat that I'm almost finished with.

Going with higher quality gear change out. Started out and changed all duck decoys, seaduck, brant as well with slotted bags and correct weights with them all new duck decoys within the last two years.  Used 18 Final Approach Snowgoose decoys towards the end of last year. Got birds into them every day I put them out. Yes, they are heavy but the quality allows for less needed. Going to add a few of those and use them a little earlier in the season.  Going to add a harvester pack of GHG for field usage and want to change out jackets.  Don't know who to go with yet with the jacket, but any advice would be great. I'm anxious to hear about the Sitka ones so somebody please post when they get it.

The Sitka coat didn't look like to bad of deal.  I think I saw a price on it of around $249 or somewhere in the ball park.  I want to try it on before I jump on buying one.  I don't want a tight jacket for waterfowl hunting.  I like to jump shoot and walking in waders cooks you, so I want it to breath.
Picked up a new Filson duck hunting hat as well.

I've been really happy with rivers west jackets.

I like the Rivers West jacket, but my Eider jacket has been back twice, due to leaks and broken zippers.  They sealed and taped all the seams this last go around.
