Just use the hounds baying on an e caller.  :twocents:
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

I'm really curious why you'd want to. Say you had 15 hounds, who would win between a pack of 7 wolves and your 15 dogs? How long would it last til you caught up?  :dunno:

Well its easy, a pack of wolves will kill every hound dog you have and then they will eat you , then your truck  :chuckle: No really they will kill the hounds, its been well documented though the years with photographic evidence. Wolves are very territorial and when they hear the hounds open the hunt is on and they will kill as soon as they can get to the hounds.

Even if the wolves didn't stay and fight, the wolves are generally faster and can run much further than most hounds you could use to chase them.  The wolves aren't going up a tree, so you would have to chase your hounds for 10-15 miles (guess).  There are dog breeds (Irish wolfhound) for wolf hunting, but usually the dogs do the killing not the hunters.

Another thing too is the Irish Wolf Hound is basically the size of a wolf (120Plus pounds)  and a regular hound in shape is about half that size (60 for a descent size walker) I have 1 that is 75 in shape most have been 55 .

I use to know a guy that had two Irish Wolf Hounds.  And they weighed almost 200lbs each.  He had a ford ranger and he would let the tailgate down and they would step into the bed without jumping.  They are huge dogs with a short life span.  I think the average life span is like 9 years.

:chuckle: I couldnt imagine dumping a box of 200 pound dogs on a good ol coon race  :chuckle: Thats a huge breed but that is what would be needed to hunt wolves .

Sounds about right. The giant breeds all die out pretty quickly. There's not a single breed out there that even comes close to their attitudes though. Must've been some huuuuge wolfhounds though. Sounds like they weighed as much as a large mastiff.

It's the only two I have ever been around, niether one actually wieghed 200lbs.  One was like 175 and the other was like 190lbs or real close to that.  They are by far the biggest dogs, and most laid back dogs I have ever been around.
