I picked up a Pentax pz-70 camera with a 35-80 mm lens for 30 with a case. Was this an alright deal or did I get screwed.

I went to another yard sale this morning and they had a camera in a case marked $5 with a note that said "camera won't turn on" so I offered her $1 for it, she told me I could have the "broken" camera for $1. I took it home, put some batteries in it and it fictions normal. It's a Kodak z812 IS. It eats through normal batteries pretty fast but it's suggested that lithium ion will last twice as long, so I'm gonna get one and test it more, the camera takes awesome photos. Anyone have an expierence on these? The normal batteries only last 30-45 min at constant use, and I read that one person had the lithium last a month before replacing, I'm gonna get a rechargeable one so I won't be replacing it so often. Thanks guys for whatever input you have

I'm gonna run a couple rolls of film through it to see how the pictures turn out and if it's not good quality I'll just put it away. :-)

try some nimh batteries, are they AA?

you can get some pretty beefy AA batteries.

The sanyo eneloop professional AA's have 2500 mah and have a slower discharge rate than standard nimh batteries.
this is probably one of the best AA batteries for a power hungry camera

I robbed my trail cam batteries that were energizer ultimate lithiums and they lasted about 500 pics or so after taking 1000 in my trail cam, I just bought a new set and have gone through another 500 and there've still going strong
