RIP MCA
« on: May 04, 2012, 10:21:03 AM »
MCA.....from the Beastie Boys...............dead at 47 from cancer.

Any of you that is 35 and male know what I'm talking about. In our youth there was only one kind of rap. The beginning. There were the Beastie Boys, Run DMC, and the The Fat boys. It was crap but it was rap that our parents let us listen to. It didn't have bad language, wasn't about hate, race, or really anthing negative. Kind of sad.

So....for MCA....

I'll be riding across the land kicking up sand and if by chance I do come across a piono player I will of couse punch him in the face.

No doubt, Paul's Boutique was a classic.  I just put it on the player and cranked it loud, may need to follow it up with some other albums.  Check the cool wax!

I agree, the rap era was a lot better then.  I still love the late 80's early 90's era rap music.

That's too bad. The end of an iconic band. I still listen to there music today. Regardless of what style the music is, a good tune is a good tune.

Saw the Boys with Tribe Called Quest back in 97 at the Key Arena! Jumped on the ferry immediately afterwards and headed over to End Fest in Bremerton...one hell of a crazy weekend.
