Liberty turkeys
« on: May 07, 2012, 11:20:04 AM »
Anyone go over to Liberty for turkeys this year? Curious to hear what you thought about it. Did you get into any birds, etc.

We just came back last night from 2 days over there and got the big skunk. Didn't even see a turkey other than a "I think I just saw a turkey run over the hill" sighting yesterday morning.
We've been over there a few times and have gotten into birds, seen a good amount of sign, etc. but this year there was little to no sign anywhere. It was pretty discouraging.

We went over this past weekend. Found a couple different groups and some singletons couldn't manage to bag one though. We saw lots of criiters; a herd of bull elk , cows does grouse and rabbits.

We did see a lot of other wildlife too, but no turkeys. The bulls already had pretty good horn growth. Saw one bull that was working on his 3's already.

Hugh is mistaken. We saw zero turkeys. Also, we saw no animals at all. Nothing but ticks and other hapless turkey hunters. You need to stop misleading these peole Hugh. Mr. Jorgan has no consideration for others.

We did see a few cans of empty beverages.

I was there a week ago where i have done well in the past.  Not a single bird!  The snow was still on the ground though.

I've been over that way a few times this year and there wasn't much sign in the form of turkey's.  Way less than in the past.  Not enough to warrant a 15 minuite drive out there again this year.

I have been hunting in that area the whole season and I have had some pretty goodluck but not enough to get me a bird. Seen a lot of wildlife also lots of bulls and bucks. Just some good growing nubs on the bucks. Had a flock of turkeys cross in front of us but they went into private property.
