Playing with Hummers
« on: May 09, 2012, 08:32:21 AM »
I have a "Aputure Pro wireless" arriving today so I will be able to set my tripod near the feeders without me scaring the birds off.
I got some shots that would have been fantastic "if"  they would have been in focus,  :bash:
lol

It is a work in progress,
Only 2 defining forces sacrificed themselves for you:
The American Soldier and Jesus Christ. One died for your freedom, the other for your soul.

My rock,
He trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.
Psalm 144.1

What's your plan?  Do you set and focus the camera to a certain spot the the birds frequent, sit  and watch, and then hit the remote trigger?  Please tell me more, that seem like something I could get into with the photog GF

 :yeah:

That is what I was thinking. Setting up the tripod  close, focus on the commonly used areas, and sit at my dining room table while working. I can see the feeder out the window. Then press the shutter button when any action comes in. Taking any issues of "me" out of the equation could only make the shots better, lol.
Those above were the cleanest of those shot last night. I was loosing light fast. Little buggers are worse then my grandkids for sitting still.
Here are a couple that would have been awesome if in focus.  :o

Mine usually come in with me standing just a few feet away.  Cover all the tubes but one and you can replace the plastic flower with a real one.  Eye dropper in some sugar water.  Focus will be tough if you are not on the camera but possible if you shoot enough and cross your fingers.

Or set manual focus to a measured number of feet.
