Elk are where you find them :chuckle:

I bet your pack out was fun. I have a tough enough time chasing chukars where you took your cow.

No ATV or jeep trails where I was successful last year. I thought my Brother in-law was gonna croak just getting up to where my elk was to assist in the pack out. We started the pack out in the dark with heavy packs and made it back to the truck at 9pm. Then my wife and I went back up the next morning to finish the job. Success for me is much sweeter when I put in a strong effort to earn it.

Haha well i know there are elk there i have seen some dandys in there but i know that archery season can be rough due to weather and the bulls in the heat only being active at dark and daybreak but if i draw im in good enough shape to get to most all the places so we will see what happens but i do appreciate all the input guys!

This is my Observatory Bull from last year, I shot him the 6th day of the season started high and worked my way down. There was no weather up top, I saw several really big bulls. There was a really big bull with the bull pictured bellow but unfortunately he was ahead of this one in the heavy timber. I didnt see him until after I shot this bull. Then I sat for 10-15 min and watched big boy stand over my downed bull, as if waiting for him to get up. It was a heart breaker but that's hunting.

I call BS on that score!  Who scored it?  I don't see it being any bigger than 320"

Nice bulls.  Regardless of what anyone says about the score, that is one fine bull.  I'll never understand why someone has to question what the score is.  It's your bull and as far as I'm concerned it is what it is.   :twocents:

First time I ever hurt that much and had a smile the entire time! when ever I think about that hunt, a smile quicly returns. For me and my wife, this was the hunt of our lifetimes! We dreamed of drawing an elk tag year after year without success. When I finally drew the cow tag, we were very excited! It was the kind of excitement you should get if you draw a OIL tag! Thanks again Ribka, We will never forget your kindness.

One picture, from one angle, and you score it at no bigger than 320? Good grief! Measured by official #488, at the Sportsman's show this year.

Another example of a fine observatory bull, I mean colockum bull :chuckle:  This area has some dandy bulls every year, you just have to get off the road and put some boots on the ground to get them.  There are others on here who have shared their observa...I mean colockum bulls and they are all of equal mass and size.
