Moose on the Loose
« on: May 10, 2012, 06:51:41 PM »
It's the talk of the town.  Most exciting thing that has happened around here in months.

Had a moose in Pomeroy this evening.  Was about a 1/2 block from the house.

Was lined up for a great picture and the camera says "No memory available"  I downloaded pictures the other night and didn't put the SD card back in it.  :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:  Called home and had one of the boys bring the card. By the time they got there one of the neighbors got too close and pushed the moose out of the yard.  It decided to head back the way it came into town at a trot with DFW following.

By the time I got a picture it was a good block away.    I need to download and resize them before I get them posted.

That's cool. 8)

My dad and brother saw a moose down on Deadman Crk Rd about 10 years ago.  They told a local guy and he thought they were crazy.............until he ended up seeing it a while later.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

Wow...thats cool. My father in law saw one across the road along the rocks from Chief Timothy a few years ago. First I've heard of one in town.

It can definitely be cool to see them but what usually happens is that they attract a crowd of people and get the moose spooked.  It starts running thru peoples yards with dogs chasing them becoming a dangerous threat to people. Then WDFW shows up and tranquilizes it and 1/2 the time, it ends up dying during relocation.  If people could just leave them alone and give them enough space to wander back out of town on their own, the moose would live to be seen another day.  Hopefully your moose made it home safely.
