first 2008 bear
« on: August 05, 2008, 04:57:26 PM »
well just got back this morning from my first bear trip of the year. me and my buddy went to a decent place i know and we did pretty good. hiked in at 1:30 in the morning and got up hunting right at day break. didnt see any, tried calling with no luck but we were seeing lots of sign. we came back to another spot in the evening and spotted this guy bout 500yrds away. so off we went and put the stock on him and got within 250yrds and he was turing to go into the trees. that was as close as we're guna get i figured so we both got down and took the shot. missed him the first shot but nailed him on the second. turned out to be a boar, i reckon around 250lbs. not sure though maybe more maybe less but he was heavy as hell, his stomache showed he'd been eating pretty good. enjoy the pics, the pic of me eatin the liver is a old hunting tradition. i also took a few secery shots, i like taking those panorama shots

Congrats! Nice bear.
From the pics, it looks like we were on exact opposite sides of the mtn!  :)
Of course, my day didn't fair as well!

Right on, is this the first on the forum?

Nah, there's been one or two others posted.

I left it better than I found it...did you?
I hunt animals because veggies are too easy to stalk.
