seen one in person while hiking and have 10 to 8 different bears coming into cams. they are moving you just have to get away from the roads. they are eating grass off skid roads and hitting the skunk cabbage still. Ive only seen one peel from this year. good luck guys, wish i had a tag

I have about the exact same report that you have. I just changed my cameras over to video and it is working great. Have you tried that with any success?

Get in a place where you are pretty concealed, but can see around you because you dont want a hungry bear to know you are there before you know that he is there.  Play the wind, control your scent and did I mention play the wind! The key is you want to try and sound like something that is dying. Call at each stand for about an hour or until your about to pass out from being light headed and cant hear anymore.  :chuckle:

If that dont get them coming in, then more to a new area and try it again.  Remember, there are a few kitty cats in that area that may come looking for a meal too, so be ready! I was calling in there about 3 weeks ago and called in a coyote, but he circled down wind and caught my scent. Good luck and stay alert!

I have fiddle farted around with one a time or two, with no success other than the "light headedness"... never seen it done, but shall give it another whirl. Thanks for the tip!

I have been doing some calling in there but the only thing i have called in is the turkey vultures that hang out around there. They are pretty cool though last year was the first time i had ever seen one.

Probably because he's hunting bear!  Like shootin a grouse while your on a deer stand.  Why would you let the thunderstick boom and ruin your bear hunt for a coyote?

Have a friend that has seen the same bear 3 different times in the same spot, and has seen 2 others. Not a very good year. What gate are you in?

Did a bunch of calling today. No bears. I did call in a big ole yote. So atleast there is one less fawn killer running around. Found a chewed up blacktail shed too.

Any new signs?
How does the crappy weather impact the critters? Will they lay low with heavy rain, then possibly be more active once it straightens out?
