Why do you say no
.
because you are dealing with one of the most over regulated pieces of real estate that we have in this area. The agencies do not communicate with each other, nor at times can agree on legal boundaries. Call Joe and try and get written permission, when I was in there a few years ago with written permission from another agency I had to have someone ride with me to go down past the gate. sept. 11 changed a lot of what happens around that water system.
I just pulled my trail cams out of that area and the bears are moving good, I will try to get some pics downloaded. the problem I see out there right now is there are way to many people driving and wandering around . with all the activity the bears are gonna get pushed around. if you have an area where you are seeing sign, be it peeled trees ,scat, popped stumps etc, get in hunker down and either try calling or just wait them out. fawn in distress is great this time of the year, and there are plenty of threads on here about how to do it. but then again you get a bunch of people out there blowing calls and they are going to get wise
keep the wind in your favor, hunt the middle of the week , that seems to be when the least amount of people are in there, get in to the area with the freshest sign, hunker down, and concentrate on the last couple of hours of daylight, dont get up and hike out till shooting hours have elapsed.
