Some people...
« on: September 20, 2012, 09:43:26 PM »
So my brother works in a sporting goods store and a few guys have been coming in bragging about all the pheasants they have been getting. So my brother politely tells them that the season hasn't started yet and to be careful who they are telling this to. Their response was well people are already hunting geese. So he tells them that there was a 2 day early goose season. How hard is it to look at the regs. The seasons start the same weekends every year. Idiots!!! They get all defensive and tell him he can't prove anything. I told him to turn them in for points.

I agree if they are being flagrant about him educating them then let the wildlife officer educate them with a hefty ticket.

They did open early for an  "oldtimer" or "geezer" season, can't remember the date, but it was for upland birds. Saw it in the paper the other day.   :dunno:

Kids have been tearing up the pheasants down on the Rez.   Apparantly they planted and then two days later opened it for youth :dunno:    Lots of shooting for kids.

I took my brother for the youth pheasant hunt at Stillwater, on Sunday we ran into an older gentlemen with a dog and gun but...no kid! When we approached each other he had a confused look on his face and asked us if it was just the youth hunt. We said yep, and he was embarrassed. Said he should have looked at the regs closer. After that he promptly unloaded his gun and took off.

He said good thing he was a lousy shot because he shot at 2 pheasants and missed! haha
