I say ground pound it. I've shot them on the ground and in the air and my taste buds just can't tell the difference.

Head shot for me on the ground, no pellets to spit out .  Option 2.....on the wing.

I usually hesitate a bit if they are on the ground. I would prefer to take them on the fly. If they refuse to fly, I nail 'em.

If you're just getting meat, then there's no reason to hesitate.  If you're hunting, then there is obviously a lot more to that than just killing by any means possible.
