Oregon Point Saver
« on: May 16, 2012, 05:50:15 PM »
In Oregon the youth can apply for point savers option at age 9 for the controlled hunts, and start applying for the hunts at age 12, without going into the whole youth mentor program subject.  Anyways, the reason for my topic is to let you all know I talked with the ODFW receptionist the other day, she said in July they are starting a new program then in which you'll be able to purchase your children point savers at that time if you havent done so already for 2012.  This is a good opportunity to acquire your kids out of state points for a decent price and I know I'll be taking advantage of it.  With the nonresident youth license at only 19.50 and controlled apps at 8.00 each its a good bargain to start saving points so you can surprise them some day with a decent eastside buck or bull tag.  To do the same as a nonresident adult you have to purchase a 140.50 hunting license, that's a big difference.  Thought I'd share this, remember July.
When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.

The only part that sucks is the tags are full non=res. price, I wish they gave a youth non-resident price for the tags like Washington and Idaho does.
