Help Support Wolf Reductions in Montana
« on: May 18, 2012, 07:42:28 AM »
We need to support our fellow sportmen in Montana by emailing the MT FWP Commission and requesting they reduce the wolf population in Montana.
Send email to:  fwpcomm@mt.gov

Fellow Sportsmen,
Earlier in the week we told you of the FWP meetings scheduled to take comment on wolf management in Montana.  I hope you have made arrangements to attend and that you will speak on the issue.  FWP must hear your concerns.  If you are in the Eastern part of the state please show your support for those being impacted in the West and attend the Billings meeting.

FWP wants to reduce the wolf population however; their current tentative proposal is not aggressive enough to realistically or significantly bring down wolf numbers.  Not all Commission members are on board with reducing wolf numbers.

The Main Points to Make:

Dear Commission Members,
I support the MFWP wolf season tentative proposal with the following changes:

1. Delete reference to the 425 minimum target/objective
2. Include snaring for general trapping season; set season to run January 1, 2013 - March 31, 2013; and eliminate the 48 hr trap check requirement.
3. General gun season to end March 31, 2013.
4. Reduce the cost of non-resident license to $50.
5. Eliminate the five-day waiting period between license purchase and start of hunt.
Americans are systematically advocating, legislating, and voting away each others rights. Support all user groups & quit losing opportunity!
