Time to start nocking on doors. I have seen people hunt the river bottom from highway 20, park at the bridge where 20 crosses the river right by Goat creek road, it is about 4 miles south of the Mazama turn off before you get to Winthrop. Lots of private property.

Deer Area 2012 Methow Valley (Okanogan County):
All private land in the Methow Watershed located outside the external boundary of the Okanogan National Forest and north of the following boundary: starting where the Libby Creek Road (County road 1049) intersects the Okanogan National Forest boundary; west on road 1049 to State Hwy 153; north on Hwy 153 to the Old Carlton Road; east on the Old Carlton Road to the Texas Creek Road (County road 1543); east on the Texas Creek Road to the Vintin Road (County road 1552); northeast on the Vintin Road to the Okanogan National Forest boundary.

My brother has lived in the Methow for years.  Gold Creek, Libby Creek  I'll try to find something out.  I'll be going over in August to scout the Okanogan highlands, between Tonasket and Republic.  Got an exclusive on private land, thanks to another brother :)

I believe its a new tag designed to get some of the deer that have been concentrating in the valley.  Its pert near dangerous on the hi-ways as of late.  There are a ton of tree hugging liberal wack jobs in the valley now, so its not as easy as it used to be.  Best bet would be to find some farmers that the deer are doing crop damage too.  I wish I had some names for you since I grew up there, but I don't even recognize anyone these days.  I feel like a stranger in my hometown.  Don't mean to sound like a downer....there are LOTS OF DEER!

I drew a anterless tag for area 242........ I'll have to do some scouting myself.

Shooting a doe in the methow would be easier then avoiding them on hwy 20 between Twisp and Winthrop!

Does this tag have special locations in the valley?
If not you will have no problem filling this tag in minutes.

This tag ends this Friday the 9th of Oct by the way...provided it is for anterless, 2nd deer on private property...which is the same tag I have.

Good luck!

Oops...just read the date on when this was started.... :chuckle:
