Is there still a maximum let-off on compound bows?

I know it was 65% in the past, but I didn't happen to see anything about it in the new regs.

Just remember, if you plan to hunt in any other states, most limit it to 80% (e.g., ID, OR, AZ, NM, etc.).

exceeding sixty-five (65) percent on a compound bow, using the AMO standard method of measuring letoff, will be listed with
an asterisk."

I've always found this funny.  Basically, if you use a compound bow you get an asterisk.  (almost all bows are more than 65% letoff)  Maybe we should have 2 asterisks if you use a lighted nock, and three if you use an expandable broadhead?   Maybe a colored asterisk if you use a fiber optic sight and two colored asterisks if you use a lazer rangefinder.    I guess the asterisk denotes you killed a good animal, but didn't have the skill to do it with traditional gear.  They are a good records/scoring club but I have found this decision and others amusing.

I have a really good letter from M.R. James on this decision (if I can find it I'll post it), essentially stating they should have done it sooner because their scoring of trophies would have been incomplete if most of the entries were shot with more than 65% letoff.  Insightful and still relevant to other and current issues.
