Looking at getting a newer quad
« on: March 31, 2012, 02:42:39 PM »
If anyone has or knows of anyone getting rid of a quad.  I am looking for a Polaris Sportsman 500-800 from 2004-?  If you know of anyone let me know.  Thanks

I looked into used quads. I don't think they are worth the $. You really do not save that much from a new one and most likely they have been beat to death and require lots of TLC to get them into good condition. Look on the forum classifieds or better yet post a wanted ad for one. You will get better visibility.

If you have the cash ready you can find some good used ones for a good price.  I bought a 2010 Grizzly 700 with all the bells and whistles last year.  It only had 250 miles on it.  I got it for $3000 less than new and it was in mint condition.

Just keep looking at craiglist.  You need to search with different words all the time, i.e. Polaris or ATV or quad or honda.  Seems you find some of the same and some different by the way you search.  I've found 2 great Polaris ATV's bought from great people.  1st one was a 3 year old 2007 500 Sportsman HO with 113 miles on it for $4500 and the 2nd was a 2007 Polaris Trail Boss 330 with less than 50 miles on it for $2250.  Both used for hunting and both will hold 2 people easily.  Fun for the family. BTW I also got the trailer on CL for $500, full metal and holds both quads.  There are good people out there that are just done with things and not looking to rip people off, you just have to find them.  Each person I bought them from threw in a bunch of extra's for 50-100 more bucks. Ramps, covers, storage and such.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

be patient, you'll know when you find one well taken care of.  If you gotta "have it now" just go to the dealer and sign your life away - otherwise give it some time, have cash in hand and be ready to jump when you find a great used one in the right price range.
