Rimrock area memorial weekend scouting/campin trip
« on: May 29, 2012, 10:12:30 AM »
Been going up to rim rock for the past 6 years for an annual camping trip and everytime I wish I could draw the bull tag here!  So lots of elk down low around the south fork of the tieton river.  Woke up with a bull in our camp one morning.  Havent had a chance to head up higher and scout yet.  My guess is these elk move up higher during the summer, but it seems like a good area they could hang out in year round.  The bulls are starting to grow there antlers, some looked like they have potential to be shooters for anyone who gets the tag.  Hoping one day to get the chance to hunt them, it would be a beautiful area to hunt.

I was up there this weekend too, just a little higher up scouting and setting my trail cams.  Elk are still low as there are still lots of snow patches not much higher than the river.  Set two of my cams in great spots.  Will post some pics soon!  I put in for bull tag here as #1 choice, but only have 4pts this year.  Here's hoping!

No kidding.
I love the bulls bugling during ruttin' season in the North Fork Tieton area.

I see tons of bulls in that area, and some real hogs too.  Just gotta know where to look.
