Washington FNAWS Rocky Mtn Bighorn Raffle
« on: August 07, 2008, 05:19:45 PM »
The 4th Annual Washington Rocky Mtn Bighorn Raffle concluded yesterday as WDFW Biologist Paul Wik pulled the lucky hunter's name from the barrel.  Chris Dianda from Nevada is very excited for the opportunity to harvest his first Rocky Mtn Bighorn Sheep.  When I finally reached Chris on the phone last night he said, "This is the best phone call I have ever received!"

Sales really took off the last 16 days as final sales total $89,280 resulting in $80,352 going to WDFW for Rocky Mtn Bighorn projects.   Since August of 2005, Washington FNAWS has raised over $330,000 for WDFW from the Rocky raffle to fund our Rocky Mtn bighorn program. In the end we had a record number of people buy raffle tickets but gross sales were still down about 10% compared to last year.   The revenue earned by WAFNAWS for WDFW will allow the department to complete Rocky Mtn bighorn transplants over the next two winters.

Thanks again for everyone's support of this year's raffle.

Yours in Conservation,

Glen A. Landrus
President, WAFNAWS

I think it is great that you raised all that $ to further help the sheep here in WA, it's too bad a WA guy didn't get the tag though or even better one of us. Keep up the good work. :rockin:

If Glen ever called me I would drop the phone and pee my pants.  Then I would run around the house naked a few times and scream oh my god!

If that doesn't paint a picture :yike:

Thanks for the update Glen, much appreciated.

Congratulations to Chris Dianda, your going to have one hell of a hunt.
