Custom Elk Calls - Maple Burl
« on: June 02, 2012, 08:52:30 AM »
I have turned 5 more out of gramps' piece of Maple Burl.  This piece was cut thick enough that I turned it parallel with the eyes making for cool vertical figure.  I also put a little brown dye into the wood making the figure pop a little better.  The calls are finished wuth a deep polyurethane crystal clear finish.

$26 shipped.

Those turned out beautiful.  I've been looking at your composites recently.  Do you have any green/black or green/charcoal right now?

Alcon,

JPhelps makes a great elk call. Beautiful, small, and easy to use. A welcome addition to my mouth reed call.

I have I think the first call out of this burl...  It is amazing to look at, and sounds even better!  A true piece of art!
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

All of these are gone.  Thank You for looking.  I will be turning up some more of these soon.  I like how they look and turn out.  Besides Gramps' would be proud that his maple burl is being turned into elk calls.
