Nice fish! You find one of them, you usually can find a bunch! Took the kids out last night and caught maybe 11 perch and blue gill, plus a few rock bass. Nice fillets. We prefer to steam them then serve over rice..... Got a favorite recipe for the fish?

lemon juice
wrap in foil

BBQ for a bit and serve...not much of a chef... :dunno:

Hey, that sounds great to me... sometimes less is more!

When I steam these little fillets, just some butter, a splash of Old Bay seasoning, maybe some garlic herb spice....great eats!

I feel like a real schmuck, this the first panfish trip of the year. Usually I have had them out alot by now. The lakes seem to be a whole month behind where they usually are by now.... No big schooling of Bluegill or perch to date. Must be from our cold spring.....

I have had them out after trout a few times....been busy summer working a swing/late shift to avoid summer daycare expenses.... I am not home on friday nights like previous years.....

I even just noticed that the grouse Opener lands on a Monday!  :'(  This royally screws up grouse trip plans. No three day grouse trip for the kids... Crummy summer so far...need to get them  out on the fish I guess!

sammamish is plumb full of panfish at the moment...caught another one of the crappies tonight...slightly bigger than this one..

although it tasted nasty...like sulfur (which is uncommon for the fish I have pulled outta here)..so its coon food.
