$349.88
« on: June 05, 2012, 03:57:29 PM »
Is what Cabelas is selling the old Vanguards for, so I picked one up a couple weeks ago for my "exclusive" coyote gun.. Blued synthetic, in .243, and boy does that sonafabitch shoot!! Had some leupold Rem 700 rings and bases and a 4-12 Leupold in the safe, fed it some 55 Bt's pushed with H414@4000 fps, shoots 3/4'' all day long... Not bad for a $350.00 gun. They still had some left in 300 win and roy, 7 mag, 06' etc, no more 257's damn it! Great bang for the buck if your interseted.. Later

do they have trap doors on the bottom to unload the mag?

If you want a cheap gun that out shoots anything, the savage/stevens 200's are the best Ive seen.

Don't know, I looked at a dealer catalog, vanguards are $372.00 at cost, so they are below cost. One thing I liked for being a cheapo, is they have a solid stock, versus the hollow POS that comes on a Tikka or Rem SPS. They also have a "short" action to acomadate the short action rounds, versus a cheese dick spacer in the clip like the Tikka.... Perty good value for a truck gun.....

They shoot reasonably well, I think they are one of the best gun values out there, especially at this price.  :twocents:

I bought a 257 Weatherby Vanguard last year from Bearpaws advice for wolves. It's a nice gun and I bought 8 boxes of 100gn SP from Big R. Happy camper.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............
