Go talk to Sam at the Shell station just past Mar Don.  He is the local with the know how.  Put me on deer when I drew the tag.

no need to knock on doors, there is lots of public land. the local duck hunters are very helpful on where they saw the 28- 32in buck. hunters want to see hunters be sucessful thats what i got out of it couple years ago. get over there and hit the dunes for some scouting, then hit the watering hole
tagged out and going to town

I could probably hook you up with a local there with some access depending on if he's around at the time. last year we had some big bucks locked down but couldn't find any hunters to.come lay a sneak on em. oh well. coyote hunting out there is an excellent way to gain access to good spots on private ground as well as learn the country and spot potential shooters cause there are some wide ol monsters out there.

There is TONS of public land... the hard part is trying to hunt them in cattails 8 ft tall!  :yike: I've seen lots of bruisers..They like to hang out in public land at the edge of crop fields... Usually the crop fields are leased by hunt clubs... The trick is getting access to the public land and finding a way to get between the deer and the field. I highly recommend some summer/spring camping to get the area scouted out.  :twocents:
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
