So Killbilly picked me up for an evening bear hunt around 6 pm. We took off and before we could leave the developement a guy notices the large bear stickers on Killbilly's door and says, "theres a bear, we have a bear". I say, "in the back of the truck" and he says "yea". So of course we have to take a look. We get out and this guy has a whopper of a bear.

It did not have a lot of fat on it, but it was healthy and it had a melon of a head. We figured maybe 7 years old, a head around 19 inches and real close to (if not more) 300 lbs gutted. It was his first bear and there were a few little mistakes made in the field care so there probably won't be a mount, but it is definately a great bear, let alone a guys first bear. Congratulations!

The cool thing is they live about a block away..what a cool way to meet your neighbors.
The sad part is that I think he killed it where I was planning on hunting in the morning.  :bash:

Oh, and for those of you that thought I killed it... shame on you.  :chuckle:What would make you think that? :IBCOOL:

Like I said before, the pics don't do it justice. Maybe Killbilly's turned out better?

Pic of head, sunlight cutting across it. but an idea of head size. One other little different than BTKR

I don't think it is a scar. It was winched out and the whole back was bald and it was missing hair all over.

DAING!  He probably won't be looking at getting a rug done.  Maybe a shoulder Mount.  Their are ways to hide some damage.

I doubt a shoulder mount could be done either. Basically bald from butt to shoulder.

We tried pretty hard and he almost took it there but he needed a place to store the meat as well and where they were taking it was going to skin and store the meat for free.

My buddy took it in, just doing a neck mount with an open mouth mount. He just called me asking questions  about the head size and form fitment.
