GMU's 127-142
« on: June 08, 2012, 11:05:13 PM »
So my brother was drawn for the Nov. 10-19 Buck hunt for GMU's 127-142.  He helps me and I help him so I'll be saying we from now on.  :chuckle:  We have an idea for the Colfax area but want to try and get the most info on any area we can hunt, with so much knowledge here I was hoping someone would give us some more advice for a day or two hunt in the middle that might pan out.  We have hunted this area for a few years now and know it's 99% private land, anyone know someone willing to help us out with a good hunt would be great.  Let me know on any GMU in this range..... :EAT: :EAT:
We are more than considerate and hunt the right way!
Thanks

I drew it as well. If you need land to hunt on I'd start knocking on doors sooner rather then later. Seems like it would be easier to gain access for this tag as the rush of general season is past.

Look at DNR maps, they will show public land mixed in with private land.  Good luck!

Had it last year and passed up 15 bucks the first say there! Knock on lots of doors! That hunt all depends on the rut! If you miss the rut you wont.see much! If the rut is on deer everywhere. Take a grunt call, bleat, and a set of horns to rattle. Good luck boys!

I was drawn for the hunt as well.  I will be buying the DNR maps for those units.

750 permits should make it fun.   I will be hunting with my son so it will be fun just to shoot a legal deer.

It's a big unit. We only saw one truck with 4 guys hunting. That was it.

Lots of deer in the right areas. Really fun hunt. Like others have said, knock on doors a lot of farmers are more than willing to get some deer killed, shoot the deer, not the coyotes, wheat is how most these guys make a living.
