Don't want to have to shoot that little one in self defense, they sure do come in good though.

Well finally made it back in... had my toughest decision yet.....we decided to drive today and check out different spots. Saw a small bull and cow this morning, passed....driving around to look for a new spot to try to get into where Mr Big is at and we I spot one bedded down, 256 yards in a select cut timber area....O tell my dad to get out the spotting scope. I check him out and see he's about 40+" perfect matching palms with a double, tripple brows....Huh! I start texting everyone, Shane, Eric, My wife..asking about ear width, palm size ect... We watched him in his bed for 2 hours deciding and texting what to do....finally he stands and stretches just like a cat....I decide that if I can get him with my bow I'd do it easy...Well he doesn't come in because he has a cow and calk and smaller bull with him....he starts to wander off...I grab the 300 and tell my dad to get  the camera and video it...well I just couldn't do it...had the crosshairs on him, safety off and finger on the trigger. I just have my heart set on doing it with my bow, unless he's 50+ inches.....My dad says he understands, but if he had the tag he wouldn't have let him get out of his bed.... :chuckle:....we'll see if I regret this decision...Shane guaranteed me a 47" one LOL....sorry bro had to throw that in! I need a drink....adios for the night!

The trigger finger does get itchy after a few days on these hunts.  Way to stick to your guns sounds like a pretty good one though, can't wait for tomorrows update.

Meat on the table is taken care of....thats why I shot my elk opening day this year. All so I could experience this whole hunt since I'll never get to do it again....I do have video of todays bull. I'll let Shane load it since I'm a maroon when it come to that stuff...It was a very tough call today, I would have if I didnt see a 50+ the day prior to the opener...I have video of him to...I'll just give Shane my camera..... :chuckle:

Don't give your camera to Shane he will just drop it and bust it.
