Stop by the ranger station or Whistlin Jacks and get a Ranger District map, that is the best one out there or the Gazetteer

Google Earth, National Geographic Topo! Washington, and go hunt off the Washington state fish and wildlife web site.

Bought mine at the ranger station last year. It was a little spendy but it is also a really nice map and seems to be up to date.

Stop by Whistling Jacks or a Yakima County Sheriff's office and get the Yakima County Sheriff's map.  Very handy.

I drew the Quality archery tag this year and last year I drew the rifle bull tag for Peaches and got a bull.  I am a lucky guy, I know.  The rifle hunt was awesome but being the first one in the woods this year should be even better.  Anyone who archery hunted last year and wants to share story PM me.  Thanks

The best thing you can do is go with USGS topos. I suggest you purchase the USGS software maps for Washington State that are sold thru National Geographic. They are GPS compatable with several different GPS models. You can place wavepoints, routes, etc and transferr them to your GPS. You can put in routes, follow trails and print out the maps. One bad thing is you can't download them to say a Garmin GPS because Garmin uses their own Mapsource maps which are junk compared to USGS maps. :twocents:

All you need is a goto function on your gps and a back track . I'd get in there and learn it on foot the maps can be desieving on how tough some of it is . the one thing that will help is a gmu map the boundry can get a lil wierd on the south end off the unit and if you not a lil carefull you could end up ion 340.

Just to clarify junk maps! The maps all come from the same place, some with value added. The maps are of different scales for gross to fine detail. The GPS units come with a map that is too big(not enough fine data, you need to Purchase 1:2000 quad maps for your GPS. Thing is noone is paying to have maps updated so we are living in the past on most maps. Good thing is the land doesn't change just the new roads and abandoned ones.
