No links yet.  Word of the LoboWatch FB page is that YNP is trying REALLY hard to suppress this story...  not surprising!

I tried searching for the story and couldn't find anything on this yet.  The best I could find was a story about a wolf that the park killed in 2009 because it kept chasing people on bicycles and motorcycles.

Heard about this yesterday but they weren't admitting it happened yet. A post was made on facebook asking people to call the park to release the story.

Very glad the guy was smart enough to get in the river....  :yike: :yike: :yike:

I'm happy to hear the guy was okay, This is a sad realization that the environmentalists are going to have to come to... wolves are not a friendly group of animals, that's why there is stories about "the big bad wolf" that have been around since before all the farmers tried to kill them off in the first place.

expect to see a lot more of this kind of news, then sooner or later (later) society will realize that once again, us outdoorsmen were right again and the wolf population need to be closely regulated or they will eventually be the dominant species in the woods. this is a sad story.

We need to figure out who this guy is and get his story! THAT would make some news!

Yellowstone will do all it can to get rid of this story or play it down to where they calmy asked him to leave and gave him a pinic basket for leaving. Why? Kids are out of school next week and they want the almighty green.

So what is their interpitation of "escorted"? How does a wolf ask you to leave?

I am thinking he was chased......and you can bet your butt there was more then just one.....even if that was all that was seen at the time.

Ok, on this one I may have an answer. There is honestly an "escort" command for military working dogs. As long as you continue doing what you were doing the dog just watches you. Any sudden movement or take off running and you're gonna get it. Maybe that's what this wolf was doing?  :dunno: If that's the case then I'd bet it's either the germans or the italians training these yellowstone woofs.

Maybe they can find out the identity of the guy, get a statement and go public with that....  :dunno:

Bea James Baker

to update the YNP wolf attack story - per Scott B Rockholm of "Yellowstone is Dead" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYxGJB5dJxI. Scott did extensive interviewing today w YNP officials and others. per Scott "I received a tip on a developing story out of Yellowstone Park about a man that was attacked by a pack of wolves. I interviewed Doug Smith, Wolf Project Leader, and the event did occur. The Park Service is down playing the event, but I should have more details soon." This was earlier this morning. He has spent the day piecing the story together. Will post more as it arrives.
