I'd be hanging a ton of snares with a foot trap or two near the bait.  Set the snares for outgoing wolves, one wolf triggers the foot trap and they all scatter and hit the snares going out

can't wait until I can trap for them

I did not take this footage.  If it had been in a unit open for wolves I'm sure we would have heard a shot.  :)  Baiting wolves is ILLEGAL in ID, however if you are baiting bears and a wolf comes into your bait and the season is open and you have a tag you can kill a wolf off of a bear bait.

Wow, I have never seen a bear act quite like that.  Thanks for posting
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming, "WOO HOO! WHAT A RIDE!!"

My family found a bear killed by wolves 2 years in a row in idaho. Both were completely torn to pieces.

Clearly I was not the only one waiting in angst for the satisfying 'crack' of a .300 short mag near the end there (or .25/06, .30/06, 7mm, etc.)...  ;)
