Clemens Sheep
« on: June 12, 2012, 09:07:55 AM »
Just thought I would let you guys know incase someone has a tag.  There were 29 Rams yesterday just west of Hardy canyon right on top. Yes I said 29!!  It would be a good chance to compare rams side by side. Here is a couple pics of the one I liked.  Sorry they are with an IPhone through binos.

I have the early season tag, and have been looking for some advice where to find them. I read that some sheep were removed and transplanted from Clemons this spring, so you sighting is encouraging, thanks for the info. How bad was the Hardy canyon road? Where do you think they water?

Hardy canyon road is closed but they opened a new one about a half mile to the north that takes you up to the ridge road right in sheep country. that road is a good one.

If you get on top and can see you will find them. Are you going to shoot one or are you going to hunt for one?  It would be a really fun hunt with bow or Muzzy. With the riffle there isn't alot of challenge.

Coach

There was one pretty close to that in the group.  That is a sweetheart of a ram.  I would give a nut to be able to hunt those!

There was a group of rams with five nice rams ( well four now) in it all 165 -168 class rams . that ram was the only big ram that wasn't broomed and to my surprise didn't effect his score because he carried his mass. do you home work and really learn how to judge a ram you need to see them from the side and the back , look for a ram that drops beloow his jaw .

How about a lever action 30/30 w/open sights?
