When I drew I'm pterry sure that I had 11points . the late tag offers a better chance to find all the ams in the unit . after the first couple of days it will get lonely out there . a good bet is to glass from afar the night before and put them to bed . the sheep i found early will bug out two or three canyons when spoked . if a guy has two rigs or a motorcylce to leave on at the bottom and drop in it makes it way easyier . even in late october it can get hot and in augaust it can be brutal hiking back up . Last year we where in there on the night of the first and coulda shot a good ram but held out til oct since it was a raffle tag . be cafefull not to shoot the first ram you find because they are tough to judge . I'd spend some time trying to find a blue ear tag ram #417 if he's still around and old 408 . the biologist should be able to give you an idea . the only problem is they dont know wich sheep the indians harvest . Very fun hunt and is what you make of it.

Here is a picture of my Clement sheep. At the time it was considered big, but now it is average.

was up there last week, saw 42 rams in three different groups. Local bio says there are 90 rams up there.

That is a nice ram! I am looking forward to seeing this hunt unfold. I always put it as my first choice and love the area.

I think 90 rams is a hi number more like 40-50 with 12-15 being shooters , maybe 90 if you count the bannana rams but i doubt it , there herd is 250 or so strong .

Coach, just telling ya what the bio said he personally counted from the helicopter when they did their counts. Don't think he would lie.....he works for WDFW after all. Everything they say is pure truth.

must be gods truth nors . Kinda like 50 bucks in a unit but ony three are three points ! I know guys that see the same herd of twenty elkn every day and after a week have seen 120 elk !
maybe there count was done late and they where getting some tieton sheep in the mix ? 90 just seems high but if thats the case it's great news . they gotta make the sixteen or so tags look in line with the count huh.

Tell me about it. I was hunting alone. Never saw another hunter. It was a tough pack.

We hiked out in the dark with packs and ram ! frickin nuts only almost fell to our deaths two or three times , we where right in the middle so up wasn't a choice . you can easly spend all day working your way down a ridge and still not get out till after dark on the bright side they are pretty easy to spot from a distance.
