Cabela's is very proud of their prices. They are way overpriced and I will never, ever buy any gun from them. Shop around my friend and save some money.

My Dad really wanted to check out some left-handed guns but has now decided that he will just buy through Bud's, better prices and no BS.

www.lowpriceguns.com They're out of Bellevue. I've bought guns from them and they were very reasonable. Call 'em. They ship to your FFL and only charge $9.95 shipping or pick it up at the store. I was happy with them.

I am talking about guns that are identical model to new ones on the other side of the room. We aren't talking about major differences.

Yep. I was looking at a Kahr .40.  Something like $40 more for used.

The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

I haven't had much troubles at the Lacey Cabelas but split that between Sportsman Wharehouse and Sportco.  I have noticed that Sportco has some good prices some alot lower that Cabelas.

I had a similar in the archery dept. No clue. I had my son with me and he wanted to see if he could pull back/shoot a bow. Of course ALL bows on the racks are zip tied. Asked if he could t out the one they had in the target area.

Employee - Are you going to buy the bow today
Me - No, want to see if he can pull it back and if he can; put it on the b-day list.
Employee - if not buying, nope.
Me - We've shot bows at other Cabela's n the past
Employee - if you aren't buying today, no.

I then had a very upset kid. Other than wanting to see the animals & fish thats all he wanted to do.  :bash: If you can't test shoot a bow, how are you to know if you like it or if it fits you?

Kid's liked seeing all the animals and such, but I won't be buying much there. Definately no guns or bows.  :twocents:

I had a problem in the Reno Cabelas in their archery department.  I ordered my bow online from Cabelas and all the accesories.  I called to ask if they could help tune it for me.  The said they gladly would and bring it up anytime.  I went in the store the following weekend after I called.  Went to the archery counter with my bow in a case with Cabelas right on the case.  Waited about 10 minutes before anyone showed up at the counter.  Asked the kid about helping me and he told me I can't help you.  Needless to say I was pissed to the max  :bash: :bash:.  Turned around and went to Sheels up the road.  I tell you if you get a chance to go to a Sheels store go.  Nice place.

Cabela's gun counter in Lacey suck,  the employees there think they know it all.  Guns has higher prices than Wholesalesports (formerly Sportsman's warehouse).

They do have good sales every now and then on other things though.

I just don't understand why people spen their money for guns at Cabelas. Overpriced, poor customer service and ya gotsta get a number and wait in line. I'd much rather give my money to a local than Cabelas.

Gun counter experience at any shop seems to vary from day to day and depends on the counter help at the time. It also varies over time as store policies change from time to time. I don't judge a shop from one bad experience. Could just be a bad day or one bad counter person.

I've had a few good experiences at Lacey Cabela's as well as Sportsman Warehouse South Hill. Lacey's Cabela's used to have some pretty reasonable used gun prices and you occasionally can still find a bargain now but they're harder to find.

Drove by the Tulalip Cabela's over the weekend on the way home from a trip. Saw that the parking lot was jammed and a long line of traffic on the frontage road so I just drove on past the exit.

Used gun prices are a real crap shoot. Some demand higher prices because they are worth more. Like someone mentioned, I would pay a premium for an older pre-Rem Marlin over a new one.

I never have bought a gun from Cabelas. Because their prices are high most of the time. Plus I prefer to buy close to home if I can. If I walk into one of the local shops people know me . I try to spread the wealth too. But the best price is the best price. Holiday Sports,Kesselrings, Wholesale Sports are only a 5-10 minutes away. Yeagers 20 minutes north.

I go to Cabelas for a larger selection on other than guns.

Have purchased several guns at the Lacey store, both new and used.  New was on sale/closeout or in one case a limited sale come on and both great prices.  That was in the first year or two after opening though.  All the rest were purchased by watching the gun library, seeing something that obviously was priced wrong in another store, have it shipped from store to store ($25 long gun or $35 handgun), verify condition, then purchase.  Had several really good deals that way.

Service behind the counter sucks.  Cabelas would be better off having twice as many salesman behind the counter rather than have people walk because they have to wait an hour to see a rifle or scope.  That's just a poor way to do business.

Cabelas is screwed up... they started marketing mailing me last year out of the blue.. then they gave me 500 dollars in cabelas points.

I called them and asked them where they came from.

Cabelas stated that I must have had a cabelas card, and I said nope. Do not have one now and never have.

Cabelas said hmmm well they are you points, they asked me my name address, old addresses everything.

So I figured I have brought them in the past over the last ten years and maybe they gave points out like percentage of purchase when they launched their new website. I suggested this to them, and the operator said maybe.

She said well anyway they are yours use them.

So a few days later I bought a Shimano Stella....

A week later cabelas called me and said they gave me someone elses card points, and I have to return the stella.

I was kind of shocked as this is obviously their screw up.

1. Marketing to me when I never opted into their list, and these emails came to my work email which I seldom use for buying non work stuff.

2. They confirmed it with me over 2 phone conversations, they quailified me, they knew all my old addresses and everything going back 10+years.

3. Cabelas then said if I do not return it they will prosecute me for theft !!! LOL.

4. I was like really you marketed to me, and all this, gave me a deal, I asked where it came from, you said use it. It is like giving a sale or discount then chasing someone in the parking lot and yellig theft. We own our mistakes at my company.

5. I told them fine I am sending it back, and making a webpage about what happened.

6. They then got back to me the next day and said to keep it and not to worry.

7. A week later they started emailing me again.
