Don't worry guys the tag isn't a wasted one.  Two days is plenty of time for him to shoot a buck.  He's proven that many times before.
Sure hope you're right and we get to see the results!  The place I'd hunt with that tag I couldn't physically get to in two days.  I'd go 1/2 way, camp, go the rest the next day; same coming out.  That's with horses carrying my gear and me leading them.  Hopefully he is a lucky guy!
Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!

U cant control what tags u draw when u draw a better tag that is going on at the same time u hunt the better unit every time and the other tag i drew is far better than the wanaha tag.Not meaning to ruffle any feathers, and 2 days is plenty to shoot a decent buck I have many deer that were shot on run and gun hunts.I would love to spend more time in there just cant.

When putting in for some special tags, I always look at dates, to see if there is a potential conflict... tags are way to hard to draw in this state to just blow them off, because of a hunt drawn out of state...  It is called logistics and planning...

2 days in that unit?  Good luck with a muzzy.. not sure you could get it done with a rifle.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

That don't look to bad  :chuckle:  :chuckle: Just hope it dies before it looks at the bottom  :bash:

The bottom is where you want to be but I hope you have help and/or hay burners with you.  Maybe you should just go those two days to learn the country, although it would be smart to go ahead and take your ML for the cougars, bears and wolves.

i put in for 30 plus deer and elk tags a year there are bound to be conflicts .I spend hundreds of hours a yr planning my hunts. There is no way to avoid conflicts at times and I hate to brake it to u even though wanaha is a draw tag in washington it is no better than many over the counter tag in many other states out west. Before someone says it no I am not some rich guy just paying people to find me a deer I am a tinbender that hunts hard and spends my extra time and money on hunting not fancy trucks and big houses.I hunt and scout 40 to 70 days a yr on my own hunts and helping others find there animals.Quite frankly this is not the reasponce I thought I would get on the washington forum  even though I do admit I could have worded my first reasponce a little better.

You have just as much right to that permit as anyone else.  You also have the right to hunt as little or as much as you choose with that permit.  Do the best you can and as long as you are happy with your experience, that's all that matters.  You must have drawn a heck of a tag in Nevada.  I've seen a few really nice bucks in the blues.    I do know that the Wenaha  is big, rough country.  Hope you find a way to get it done.  And good luck on your out of state hunts.  5 other deer tags in one year.  What a haul.  Good luck!

I would say Wenaha doesn't even hold a candle to most other western states general hunts. I hunt it because I love it up there, I grew up in that country. If I were hunting it because I thought it was my best chance in WA. at a good buck I'd be crazy.

The Wenaha can be hunted during the general rifle and archery seasons.  There is really no need to have a muzzy tag.  I would probably skip the hunt and arrive a day or two early in Nevada.

thanks for the info guys just wanted to hunt some new country and learn it a little more I knew the deer numbers were low but most of the country I hunt has low deer numbers. Many units that hold good deer dont have big numbers inless u hunt some tags that are in the winter range or rut hunts that are hard tags to come by.It has taken  me 8 yrs to figure out the idaho high country going many days without seeing a deer but if ur not out in the hills ur chances are 0.
