Hello, my name is Blake. I drew one of the youth antlerless moose tags. We are planning a number of scouting trips over the summer. If you would like any reports on what we see, send me a PM with your contact info. Maybe we can share sightings and help you find a BIG BULL. Two eyes are better than one ;).

Now that is how you share info, well done!!! You wont have any problems finding a cow if you hit the Winchester Creek road and drive to the top. Get out on the spur roads just before the top, you should see plenty of cows, good luck.

I've been scouting the last few days, seen a BIIIIGG  Bull, and know where  another is. Still haven't seen any cows, always seems to work that way. Has anyone seen any?

Got'er Done!! Thank You to everyone who provided the help and info, my little brother was able harvest his first animal after 6yrs of hunting(lol).
Not much of a story. Day 1: Saw 1 shooter put on a 2 hr stalk fog rolled in(busted), day over.
Day 2: saw 2 bulls drove around the corner saw a cow feeding, 200yrd shot, day over. Just like my coweeman cow elk tag last year.
OK, now the big question. We just finished cutting the meat and found some of those little egg like worm things in the meat(look just like a fresh tomato seed with a jellyfish tail???) I saw pics from a earlier post someone else found these too, I tried to look up the previous post and couldn't find it. ANY IDEAS??

Yeah, I haven't eaten those either when I have gotten them.  I guess the moose could be sliced thin enough to cut out any of those icky things, of course if I can't see it, it's not there.

Good stuff!  Well not the cysts.  Cook everything thoroughly, lots of sausage.  Kind of creepy but not harmful.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

You should see all the worms in the reds I get out of the Kenai, almost as bad as halibut over 50 lbs. All the moose I've helped butcher in AK have them also. I just wouldn't serve it rare. Enjoy it, at least you know where the meat came from ;)
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

I found the same thing in the moose I got in Canada this year. I researched it quite a bit and came up with the same answer everyone else has said. They won't hurt you. Most include that you can eat it any way but "blue". Just to be sure though, I have my wife give me a dose of the dogs worm medicine the first of every month. :chuckle:
