Olympic Arms K8 magnum .243
« on: June 14, 2012, 07:32:09 PM »
Just had them build my .243 WSSM Rifle with fluted stainless match grade barrel. This for those who dont know Olympic Arms is an AR platform. I am trying to figure out what optics to put on top etc. I want a ballistic turret type system but dont want to run the cost up too high like this gun cost me. I know there are deals out there like swfa.com I am interested in experience and history of members on here. Thanks guys

I will never again order from swfa or tell anyone I know to. They screwed me over real well. I called them to order bases and rings for my 300 rum sendero. The guy on the phone assured me that rum cases only use a short action.  :bash: and that I would need extra high rings no matter what scope I used. They also said I.could exchange for no cost if it wasn't right. I got the items and they were of course wrong. They tried to charge me $60 dollar restocking fee on 50 dollar rings. I went round and.round with them until the lady on the phone called me an idiot... I asked to speak with her supervisor and she was the owner I guess (that's what she told me anyways) I refuse to do business with a company who calls me an idiot to my face.
As far as scope reccomendations. I really like Burris fullfield tactical for the money. Comes with moa dials and Kenton makes custom with your info if you want that.

I have always wanted to try one of their 25 WSSM uppers but have never got around to it. Lately  I have been contemplating doing a 6mm AR Turbo upper. Due to the fact I have a truck load of Grendel brass, using it moastly for chucks and calling yokes. Maybe deer in the right situation. The plus side is that the cartridge will still fit on the standard high cap Grendel mags and the 25 WSSM and such are restricted on magazine capacity due to the fat case, I believe the WSSM' s can only run 8 rounds or so.

I think the cheapest I could recommend would be a 6x Leupold with an M1.
But....... My bushnell 4200 tracked fine on my AR. You could get a turret for one of those. End result would be maybe $100 less than the Leupold.
I don't think you'll get a decent turret scope for less than $400. And at that price point many would argue against it being decent. Stick with a known quantity.
