Look on archerytalk.com. I have a friend that is on that site all the time and has bought many bows with great luck. He has researched bows and found them for my dad and I just recently. I got the hoyt maxxis with rest and sights only one year old for 450 shipped to my door in perfect condition. Love the bow. Look up brianb231 and send him a pm, he is very helpful.
I picked up a Hoyt Maxxis 31 off eBay about  ago for 420 shipped and everything. It was loaded but i didn't want any of the accessories that were on it so I put some different ones on there. I wouldnt trade this bow for any other. I plan on shooting my first archery bull in the blues with it this September.

I wonder why there's always deals on Craigslist and eBay for Mathews?

All joking a side I'm a Martin fan, they are local and have always been good for me

Another Mathews fan here. Plenty of great deals on ebay and craigslist.

Good deals on all brands on ebay, I didn't specify the deals were only on Mathews. ;)
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!

hoyt! and after hearing about the cam bolt problem in the helim that would be x'd off my list, bowtec with their limb dilam problem xxx'ed, i bought the crx 32 last year, and if i could do it over i would have bought the crx 32. excellent bow! no problems since i bought it and i havent heard of any either. if i went with mathews i would grab a z7 but i dont like how top heavy they are. bear is getting great reviews for the bang for the buck. i might if i was you think about looking at a top of the line bear. if you dont like hoyt but that just sounds dumb as im typing it. who doesnt love hoyt. ill tell yah who. the baby from the commercial that doesnt like money either! go buy a maxis 31 or crx 32, or vector 32, or a rampage xt, depending on your budget. dont waist the money on the carbon bows cause in my opinion its not worth it. they are no better then aluminum, except a little less shock in your hand that is barely noticeable. they are louder as well since the sound echo's through the hollow tubes.  :twocents:
they call me the bloodhound cause i can track a wounded animal in the rain for 2 days when all it has is a splinter.. sniff sniff awooo

I don't have a recommendation for a specific bow but, I would say to try and find a model from 2010 or 2011 and save a couple hundred dollars.  Just my opinion

:dunno: I cant tell anyone what to shoot everyone's different. Go around shoot every bow in your price range, take notes when doing it cause you will forget what is what and then figure out which is the best for you

This is the best advice, every company out there makes awesome bows.  It's all a matter of preference.
