Wenaha East Quality Bull Archery tag?

Small bulls and not much elk. Saw a moose there though. Just kidding about the first sentence. If you got the tag it should be fun!

Steep Nasty country, Lots of Glassing, Physically Extreme, and Can be very rewarding.
"Shoot the spike".  It's much easier to pack out!

Anybody Know anything about this unit?

There is lots of info here on that unit and that specific hunt. I am sure if you get some info if you share a bit about yourself, a few pics and a story or two.

PS.
The search feature works.

If you can afford a drop camp, I would call mntcook right now. That tag is one of the best tags out there, but it will not be easy terrain to pass, much less pack an elk out in possibly high temperatures. Go scout and call western life outfitters for that drop camp, I believe it's only 1300 to use his gear and he'll pack out you animal. Good luck

I second the drop camp. At least talk to him. It could've the difference between killing a bull and killing the bull of your dreams!

I have a couple horses I use when I mule deer hunt up in the Kettle Crest....I live about 10 min from one of the trails.... We are gonna be making a few extra trips up there this summer preparing for this hunt... Mt. Cook sounds like a good setup and less of a hassle, but at 900 bucks per person my buddies wouldnt be coming with...

Your horses will hate you if they're not in shape, but you'll be having the time of your life!  Pack feed for them.  This is from the top of the Melton Fork Trail.

Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!

If you get up on top of one of those tall ridges give a wave maybe I'll see you.
I also drew the tag.

Good luck.
John
