Summer Wis-Mis Hunt & Fish Trip
« on: June 17, 2012, 01:26:40 PM »
My son and daughter are gonna stay at our place, so the wife and I can leave for her family reunion in Wisconsin this coming week plus I'm meeting a friend in Mississippi for a few days, if things work out as planned I am fitting in the following activities.

Fishing Musky-Northern-Panfish
Fish Fry
Poker Party
Hog Hunting
Catfishing with Rod and Set Line
Bowfish at night for Alligator Gar
Niece’s Wedding Reception
Reunion

(Thanks for all the bowfishing advice carpsniper, as it turns out, they have a bow for me to use.)

Hopefully will have pics to share.

I'm sure I will have fun whether I shoot or catch anything. I have two previous trips trying to get a musky, so I don't even have high hopes for that.  :chuckle:

I was reading the catfish topic, wished I could have made it down for that, sounds like everyone had a great time.

We were a day and a half late leaving so I had to scrub one day of fishing off my itinerary.  :bash:

But we are on the road and makin ground fast, we have covered over 1000 miles in 17 hours only stopping for gas, drinks, and to get rid of drinks.  :chuckle:

Seen the most roadkill in ND, nearly to Minnesota and thankfully none of that roadkill is on account of us.  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Drive safe!

I have been sleeping and working on the computer the whole way, the wife likes to drive. Can't believe she is still driving and wide awake. Seeing some awesome looking fishing spots going through MN.

Not stopping till WI, got a meeting with some fresh fish fillets this afternoon (fish fry).  :EAT:

That is a long drive! That fish will taste all the better when you get down there after that kind of drive! I have clients sunday if the weather holds. So instead of shooting carp I will be day dreaming that I am down there with you shooting some gar!!! I don't know if you want to shot one as badly as I want you to shoot one and post pictures!!!!! Last night we went out for a fish fry, the fish was great, man did I eat too much or what, that really messed up the diet. :chuckle:  :bash:

Then we played some horseracing game and poker till midnight, had a blast and made about 10 bucks off the in-laws.  :chuckle:

Nobody is up here yet except for me so thought I would check in. I was going fishing this morning but realized I have to get a few things first, so I'll wait till I get back to WI to fish here. Headed to Mississippi about mid day, hopefully be sitting in a treestand tomorrow evening with my bow and pistol for hogs.

My gar bowfishing trip is planned for Monday night, can't wait for that. I see some dude in the news arrowed one in TX that weighed about 300 pounds. Heck I don't care how big, but hoping that somebody in the boat gets at least one so I can see one in person.

My brother-in-law had on a big musky a week ago here but lost it when it got tangled in some logs and roots. I will be looking for one of them when I get back from Miss.

People are starting to stir here, talk later.  :hello:
