I had the exact same thought.   :)

Pretty sure it's a bear though, and from as much as it's blurred, I'm thinking it was on the run, trying to catch up to that deer.

But I do wonder if bears will follow does around hoping to be led to a fawn that's been in hiding.

I didn't hang out long, but I figured the bear came out of the brush and grabbed the fawn while the two deer were walking down the road. I wish I could go back up tomorrow and check out the crime scene while it was still only a day old.

I carry every time I go out, usually open where I can get to it quickly, and that still would have scared the $h!t out of me!  Come bear season, it'll be time for you to settle that score!

I bought my can of bear spray this spring. They say it's way more effective than a hand gun on a charging bear. Plus you don't have to kill one you otherwise wouldn't. Cool story, I'm glad you are ok

It is just common sense to me, to be armed in the woods. You don't go out in a boat on the ocean, with out a life preserver do you?

I am sure they do.
I found a couple of bear beds on the edge of a cut where a few does had fawns. The bear crap near the beds had fawn parts in it.
