Nw montana elk rut

So im new to elk hunting but i have decided to give montana a try the northern part just outside of east glacier ntl park, anyone have any info on the rut in this area or the best time to hunt some big bulls in this area? Any help would be much appreciated!

As far as the rut goes you would be looking at late Sep. early Oct, and for the majority of the state the only methods open are traditional. Short of special draws you would be hunting archery during the rut for elk. Pretty rough country up there with a lot of predators. Best of luck.
