Eric Holder's House of Cards Crumbling
« on: June 19, 2012, 05:38:26 PM »
http://www.guns.com/eric-holder-folds-under-contempt-pressure-atf-may-have-to-hand-over-faf-documents-8984.html

Eric Holder is up to his mustache in trouble over the Fast and Furious scandal. He recently buckled under the threat of contempt charges (at last) and appears willing to help investigators do their job. Still, he called the contempt charges an “impending constitutional crisis.” It sounds a bit more like “an impending Holder crisis.”

Though, it’s possible that Holder has turned over a new leaf. The Blaze reports that after all of the stalling and inaction from the Justice Department, Holder recently sent a letter to Darrel Issa, the chairman of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, saying that the Justice Department “is prepared to offer an extraordinary accommodation of the Committee’s interest [… by] explaining how the Department’s understanding of the facts of Fast and Furious evolved during the post-February 4 period.”

Even if Holder is suddenly taking the steps to evade a contemptuous bullet, that doesn’t mean that everybody's suddenly getting along. Judicial Watch plans to sue the ATF to obtain records of communications between the ATF and the White House. They believe that the Freedom of Information Act should give them the legal firepower they need to wrench the documents out of the ATF’s hands and into the public domain, Politico reports.

It looks as though things are coming together so that the American people will finally get the facts about the Fast and Furious scandal.

"If we receive no documents, we'll go forward," Issa told reporters.

Holder told reporters he would not turn over documents on the gun-smuggling probe called Operation Fast and Furious unless Issa agreed to another meeting. The attorney general said he would explain what is in the materials at that time. Holder wants an assurance from Issa that the transfer of the records would satisfy a subpoena from the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee that Issa chairs.

"We have offered to make materials available, documents available ... to brief on those documents, to answer any questions that might come up with regard to the documents that we produced," the attorney general said.

"The ball's in their court," Holder said. "We made what we thought was an extraordinary offer."

Issa took a different view: "After this meeting I cannot say that I am optimistic" for avoiding a contempt vote, he said.

This was taken from a huffington post article this evening... I know I know huffington post  :bash:

Holder's offer essentially is we will brief you and provide some "unseen" documents and you agree to drop the investigation.  Everything stops.  Some deal huh?  I think not.  Vote on the contempt charges as they have the votes.  Holder is just playing Iran.

I think the prosecuter should get public interviews with the slain border patrols family to gain public sympathy for the case.  I know it sucks but public opinion seems to be the way things work anymore.

Earlier on I was convinced FAF was definitely a screw up, but still questioning whether or not it was a conspiracy.  More and more is convincing me it was a conspiracy going all the way to the top.

You won't hear a thing about it unless you watch Fox News either. Its obvious the WH, and in all probability BO, were behind this all along and are now covering the entire thing up.

Its **** like this that will lead to civil unrest if this POS gets back in for another term.

I figure they are stalling long enough to burn or shred the documents that are incriminating.

:yeah:  my guess too.  I figure they are collecting all e-mails and hard drives and discs, etc.  Probably going to change a few documents and release some boggus papers with forged signatures.

Obama must be pretty worried about those documents if he invoked executive privilege. As hard as he is going after the hispanic vote, can you imagine how hispanics would react if they found out a program he was involved with killed hundreds of Mexicans.

Won't happen, they will spin it out.
Remember at the same time all this was going down our Secretary of State and the two faced piece of  :liar: the President of Mexico were having their little group grope blaming all the weapons flooding Mexico on the gun shows.

Not one of the Liberal Media had the balls to question him on his countries immigration policies on their southern border, some of the most ruthless in the world.

I've seen the border between Belize and Mexico... constintine wire, chain link and machinegun towers... What our southern border should look like.
