I would suggest last week in August.

I have a boat, so don't have any first hand experience, but this guy is well known.

Virtually all guide boats are open tiller steer, so be prepared to get wet or bake in the sun.

Friend of mine runs a guide service and spends a month and a half down there. http://www.plughoffoutfitters.com/ I think he still has a few openings. You might give him a call.

Why just limit yourself to the river...the ocean fishing just over the bar can be crazy good.

heading back for silvers 9/8...  Anyone have opinions on if this is too late?  Not going to attempt buoy 10 line in my smaller boat and debating on Astoria launch or skipamon again.  is above the bridge good for coho or take my lumps at the green can line.
