My hunting buddy has 15 points for Nevada elk. He is retiring this year and will finally be able get some hunting time in this fall. We are both doing research for his hunt and trying to decide which unit for him to apply for. He would prefer a DIY hunt but may consider a guide if no other good option exist. We are a bit to old for a full blown backcountry hunt and are looking more for a public land, set up a camp and head out each day to try and find a decent bull. He has a couple of 340 plus bulls so not looking for a trophy this time but just a good hunting experience in Nevada. I have been told the Jarbridge has great bulls but I believe that is mostly wilderness area. We are able to go anywhere in NV, have time to scout and unlimited hunting time. Trespass fee an option too. Only drawback is being old farts. Any info appreciated.
