Meat in freezer
« on: March 27, 2020, 10:30:19 AM »
Although some of you will be still looking for that trophy, many of us will be looking for meat.
It may become a rare commodity by this fall.

You must never check success rates for this state, its a rare commodity for alot of tag holders every year  :chuckle:
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

I was talking about grocery stores and meat markets.

Fortunately there’s no sign of a shortage of food. Question is why isn’t your freezer all ready full 🤔.

The meat will come back,  we have massive warehouses filled with frozen quarters and primals to be shipped off to grocery store meat market, yes there's a slight lag due to panic buying,  but like TP......IT WILL COME BACK

If you want to know when to "panic buy" beef,  then keep an eye on live beef prices,  right now they're abysmally low when compared to packed meat on the shelf.

Once live beef prices skyrocket then the packers are in full buy mode and warehouses running low of stock.
https://markets.businessinsider.com/commodities/live-cattle-price

This price gouging you're seeing now is the packers making money off this virus,  the ranchers and beef producers are not seeing a penny of it.

I would guess most people out there just have the little freezer attached to their fridge, so the masses stockpiling meat is unlikely.  Nobody in an apartment is going to have a chest freezer, and probably relatively few people that dont hunt or fish.
