Western Washington deer locations, public land (modern firearm)
« on: October 29, 2020, 06:51:57 PM »
Hello everyone

First time hunter here :) Can anyone of you share some interesting public places to find deer in western Washington (modern firearms) ? I'm open to any area in western Washington. I have seen the harvest reports for previous years but I think just going to a huge area without knowing any good places won't help. I visited Capitol peak area little bit for scouting purpose few weeks back but didn't find anything, of course the visit wasn't very thorough and well planned. Thank you :)

You're way behind the power curve.  Google "Public Lands Map Washington State".  There are a lot of results, but you only want .gov addresses.  The others are trying to sell you maps.  You can find a good map that allows you to zoom into an area of interest to investigate boundaries.

this a mapping tool that everyone seems to love,  It's not free, and you may have problems getting your money's worth this season.

Chaz rings a bell, its just north of sodo.  Joking, there is tons of public NF land on the west slopes of the cascades.

I wouldn't bother with NF lands.  They stopped logging years ago so the food and deer are both all but gone.
