My 2021 Multi season Elk tag
« on: May 18, 2024, 07:26:14 AM »
Wish I would have known. :bash:

I was just on the WDFW site making a last minute change to an application, and for some reason took a look at my previous seasons tag wins. The site says I was awarded a multi season elk permit in 2021. I have no recollection of ever winning this or being notified. I have been dutifully donating my money to WDFW for the chance of being drawn. In fact the site shows I still have 10 points towards multi Elk.

Is this just a glitch or did I miss an opportunity in 2021?

I don’t know anyone that isn’t logged in trying to see if they drew 2 days before the draws come out, and who isn’t on a text string sobbing about not drawing the second results are released.
How would it have been possible you entered the regular draw in 21 and didn’t know you drew multi-season? The multi-season stuff is at the top of the page where you enter your selections, unless you phone it in.

Maybe you were selected in the leftover draw?  This would keep your points, but show you selected for the tag. :twocents:

 :yeah:

This is why. Same here. I was selected in 21, but never purchased due to hunt plans already in motion. Because it's a redraw, and not general it does not count toward your point accrual or deductions, even if you purchased the tag.

It was probably a second draw. The part that sucks is that I didn’t know. Must have missed an email or something. I am generally on top of everything to do with my applications and draws. No idea how I missed this.

I seem to remember a year where WDFW did multiple draws for the deer tags and still couldn’t get them all sold. After that they stopped multiple draws. If they offer them to the general public they’re gone in minutes, if they offer them to those that applied and were drawn they can’t give them all away.
