Copper glance.
« on: June 30, 2019, 05:23:16 PM »
Has anyone hiked into copper glance lake since the fire last year? Wanted to hike in and camp, fish a couple days but not if it's burnt to a crisp with a foot of ash and no fire wood around. Also curious about the fishing there, could you depend on a meal or two of fish?

Recent trip reports on WTA indicate the lake basin survived the fire.

Yeah that last review on wta came up in time for me to decide to go. The fire did make a miserable hike even worse. Not to mention the second evening we decided not to stay the second night do to lighting heavy rain and hail for several hours. Started to worry about the creek crossing but we made it out and I'm still so sore I had to crawl out of bed this morning. I definitely need lighter gear if I ever do that again.

Oh yes I understand. The first backpack trip of the year for me is always followed by ibuprofen and old man hobbling for a day or two.  Always good to get out there. Hope the fish were biting for you.
